5 Brand Kit Examples to Inspire Your Brand Identity
POST DATE
Today, I want to show you some brand kit examples to inspire you as you work on building your own brand identity! Having an excellent, comprehensive brand identity kit is one of the best investments you can make for your business.
For instance: when you read the word “Google,” what comes to mind? It is very likely that you can immediately picture their logo, font, brand colors, and maybe even one of their signature phrases: “I’m feeling lucky!” More than that, the mention of Google probably reminds you of its convenience and necessity in your life. Maybe it reminds you of late nights researching for school assignments or scouring the web when you were looking to buy your first home.
Google’s branding is iconic, and the company has intentionally crafted their brand identity over time to achieve this. They have mastered what every business aims for in branding: one that is instantly recognizable. I mean, I didn’t even have to show you any of their visual branding elements for you to be able to picture what I’m talking about!
Before we jump into looking at more successful brand kit examples, I highly recommend checking out my posts on why brand identity matters and what elements go into a brand identity if you haven’t yet. This way, you’ll be caught up to speed and ready to find some brand identity inspiration!
What is a brand kit?
You may be thinking, “I’d love to look at brand kit examples, but first of all, what is a brand kit?”
Great question! A brand kit is the resource that goes over all the details of your brand identity in one place. It contains the important visual elements of your brand, such as your logo(s), font(s), color palette, and branded imagery.

This resource should also include explanations on where and how to use your brand identity elements. Think of it as your brand’s own personal rulebook. For example, you may have one, main iteration of your logo that you use for most branding efforts, but may also have a smaller, more simplified version of the logo that you use in other places. A good brand identity kit will provide both a main logo and sub logo and will help you know where it’s appropriate to incorporate each one.
What’s the difference between a brand identity kit and brand guidelines?
When looking at brand kit examples, the phrases “brand kit” and “brand guidelines” can be used interchangeably. So, is there a difference between the two?
As I mentioned before, your brand identity kit focuses on the visual assets of your brand. On the other hand, brand guidelines, which are also known as brand style guides, are about how you want to communicate your brand as a whole. These guidelines don’t just apply to your brand’s visual elements, but also the written and verbal ones, too. You can even have brand guidelines for face-to-face, in-person client experiences!
A brand kit and brand guidelines do work hand-in-hand. After all, to have a powerful, easily recognizable brand, you have to use the elements in your brand kit with consistency. A style guide will help you do that. In fact, as a brand designer and strategist myself, I’ve included a brand style guide in all of my ready-made brand kits, because I think it’s such a helpful tool for establishing a solid brand identity.
