Your brand is a living, breathing creature. It’s always changing and growing, things are dying and need to be cut out. You also need to give it nutrients to keep it alive. The insides need to be strong and efficient to keeping the outside looking good. Aesthetics are important. Brand strategy and your plan for how you talk to the world is also important. One without the other is just empty. Aesthetics without strategy is just a shell. Strategy without aesthetics will never attract your clients. .

Do you know what makes up your why? Are you sharing your values with the world in a way that serves and attracts? Do your aesthetics match your values? .

The past few weeks have been complicated, sad, and exhausting. But I got amazing news yesterday that gave me so much joy and encouragement! This gorgeous Byron Bay micro wedding was featured in the real weddings section of @bazaaraustralia 😭😍🤯 I couldn’t believe it! I’m so grateful and appreciative to have been a part of this creative team that made magical photos. Go check out the article with the link in my bio! Also go check out these talented people’s work 👇

My perspective hasn’t necessarily changed but most definitely been solidified these past few weeks. I couldn’t sum it up better than this quote and a few other thoughts: Be thankful for the people you have, and keep them close. Leave every conversation with encouragement and no regret. Use your platform to make people feel known and served by doing the best job you can. •

“Living a connected life ultimately is about setting boundaries, spending less time and energy hustling and winning over people who don’t matter, and seeing the value of working on cultivating connection with family and close friends.” - @brenebrown
I had a moment where everything just clicked the other day. I realized that I have the really special privilege to empower my clients with design and strategy. I get to coach them through the process of finding their deeper meaning in their brand and how they will use that to serve people. I get to make them feel legit with beautiful aesthetics! I get to show them that they are known because of the intentional designs on their stationery. The design process is one that has many layers, and for some it can feel daunting. I’m realizing that it’s my favorite part though. I get to be in the muck with my clients every step of the way. With every doubt, worry, confidence boost, and joy. I LOVE being in this with my clients. It gives me life and energy and purpose to empower them, and I hope I can give a little bit of that to you on here.

Hey friends. I love showing up here in an honest way. So can I be honest? I’m having a hard time keeping up with my business this week. And maybe in the weeks to come. I’m asking for some grace and patience in my response times on email and DM’s. My husband and I were blindsided by a sudden death in the immediate family, and I need some time. I can’t work at the same capacity I was a week and a half ago. I not taking off, but just doing things as I can and taking care of my people along the way. My clients and potential clients are my biggest priority, so don’t hesitate to keep reaching out. But know that I’m getting to your emails and messages as I have the capacity to. Thanks for being here. I just wanted to make this blanket statement so you all know I am not avoiding messages. Also I’m going to extend the 10% off of my Wedding Shop till the end of February, just because I want to. Xo. .

Coming soon 😘 can’t wait to share more about this branding project in the works
Did you know that your wedding can have its own brand? •
•
This is a fancy way of saying: you can make your wedding feel so much like YOU and your fiancé. How do you figure out your wedding brand? •
•
Dig a little deeper and ask yourself, what are your values and how can you incorporate those into your wedding day? How do you want your guests to feel? What do you want them to walk away with? What mood fits your personality? (Aka if you were a color, what would you be?) These are all great ways to make your wedding more true to you, and less true to what your great aunt thinks your wedding should be. Your wedding is worth injecting intentionality, sentiment, and honesty into it ❤️

What you don’t know about the past couple months:
1. We didn’t have hot water the first week in our new house. Our brand new hot water heater was broken.
2. My computer (lifeline to everything I do) stopped working right around the time we paid our down payment.
3. I had to work on my husband’s small Mac that couldn’t handle design programs very well, so work took 2x as longer as normal. This was during the busiest time I’ve ever had in my business.
4. I got a concussion the week after we moved in. I couldn’t work and couldn’t help unpack things so that all fell on Jason and I got suuuper behind on my design work. And I’m still not back to normal fully.

I share this because in the midst of exciting things, annoying and inconvenient things happen too! Instagram and the life we portray on here is a small piece of what’s really going on. Thank God my life is deeper and more complex than what you see here.
I get nervous to show weakness and struggle on here sometimes because I am scared potential clients or people watching will deem me not fit to have any influence. But life isn’t picture perfect, ever and I don’t want to portray it that way!
The next time you scroll and let it effect you negatively, remember that there’s always more behind that picture.
